Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden title for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid season, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and finally splitting with former mentor Cervara.

Currently training with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested competitive win over opponent Moutet.

It is his first title since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt since spring of the previous year.

Success also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive strategy and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the top level was over.

But the player has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an improved serve.

Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the concluding five points to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his first tour championship, took control to force a final set.

The opponent saved 4 early-game break points in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Fittingly, he earned victory with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
